Abstract

This study aims to determine and analyze the impact of the issuance of Mining Business Permits on the existence of field farmers in the Konawe Islands Regency. This study uses a qualitative approach. Researchers conducted research in two locations, namely in Kendari City and Konawe Kepulauan Regency. The time of this research was carried out from August 2022 to February 2023. The results of this study concluded that the issuance of Mining Business Permits had an impact on the existence of field farmers around the mining area in the Konawe Kepulauan Regency, namely: 1) It has an impact on the existence of several heads of farm farmer families due to the conversion of the function of part of the field agricultural land to a nickel mining area. The presence of mining companies disrupts the productivity of field farmers; 2) Impacts on the sociocultural aspects of society. The local community is divided into two camps that are pro (support) the presence of mining companies and contra (reject) mining companies operating in their area; 3) Impact on the environment around the mining area in the Konawe Kepulauan Regency in the form of a river and sea water pollution when it rains.
