Abstract

The development of Rural Bank (BPR/Bank Perwakilan Rakyat) industry in Indonesia that continues to increase in line with the development of the banking and information technology world needs to be supported by clear and directed policies and directions for the development of BPR. Although not all BPRs are able to maintain their existence, many BPRs are able to expand their service offices. This means that the management of BPR that meet the applicable rules and regulations and are supported by good management will enable BPRs to grow and develop. The strategic role of the BPR, in the BPR Blueprint stated that, so far, the majority of micro and small entrepreneurs, as well as communities in rural or suburban areas have not received banking financial services either from the aspect of financing or depositing funds. The right and strategic financial institutions to serve the needs of the community are the BPRs.
